Belgian payment reality is simple: you deposit with the Bancontact card or the app, and what comes out lands on your account. Payconiq by Bancontact was renamed Bancontact Pay in March 2026.
Bancontact Pay limits to €1500 per operation and €2500 per 24 hours. A deposit shows up immediately; on your account it usually appears after one to three banking days, on top of the processing time on the operator's side.
What is asked at registration
Signing up looks roughly the same on every site: name, date of birth and documents, before anything is paid out. An ID and something that evidences your address usually suffice. If the name on your bank account differs, things stall.
There is no Dutch or French guarantee, and no Belgian escalation path. Set the transaction e-mails aside; in a dispute over a payout those are the only documents that count.

What the law imposes
The Belgian legislator approaches player protection considerably more strictly than a few years ago with effects you cannot route around. The standard limit runs to €200 per week per site.
Through EPIS the Gaming Commission runs centralised exclusion: one registration excludes you at once from every licensed operator, online and on-site. The register is not public. Casino, gaming hall and sports betting are 21-and-over since 1 September 2024; for the National Lottery 18 remained the rule. Without valid ID you do not get through.
